If they work for your color scheme, I thnk that would be a very stylish solution.
About the art thing- for one, the towels will add a touch of pattern. Sart with some thing that adds some color or interest- it doesn't ahve to be a forever purchase. As you & the E.D. find what you enjoy, you can start to add prints- check small gallereis & better framing stores. Don't write-off family pictues altogerth - Maggie loves that her emgagement picturs are in the guest room.
