Beginning to loose it

Is it alright if I freak out that my hydrangeas were delivered today and they are a butt ugly WRONG COLOR!?!?!?

The hydrangeas I designed the entire color scheme and feel around!

The hydrangeas I paid extra for to get the "perfect" color!

Gahhhhh

(head explodes and bits of brains slowly drip from the ceiling)

Ugh. They were supposed to be blue yes?

Frustrating I'm sure... but everything will be fine. your wedding day will be lovely - and your marriage even better!

so... uh... what color are they?

Uh oh...weren't they supposed to be white? Flowers often get a lot lighter as they open up.

If that's not the case, see if you can find a wholesale flower market in your area that may be able to sell you the goods at the last minute.

Good luck!

Oh no!!! Oh no, oh no, oh no!

Maybe you can paint them??? A la Alice in Wonderland "Painting the Roses Red" ;)

Teasing.

I'm sure it'll be ok. If it really bugs you - maybe try to find new ones????? Did you check Costco - they have an awesome flower department.

That must be really disappointing. I know you can change the color of hydrangeas while they are growing by changing the ph of the soil (acid makes them blue, alkali makes them pink) but I don't know if acidifying their water would help now. There are so many other things that will be perfect, I hope this will soon seem small. Enjoy your special day tomorrow!

If they are supposed to be white- you can get those year round. You should be able to get a florist or wholesaler to overnight them for you. If they are supposed to be blue, you can actually get spray paint for flowers, ask a florist. It's about a week early for hydrangeas depending on your weather.

I hope you are having a blast in Alaska! I keep checking in hopes someone (a friend or someone you trust) has updated with a quick picture or something :) but no luck... I did check your little sis's blog and she said your wedding was amazing! I'm sure it was and cannot wait to hear all about it.

Ack! Their slideshow is up on the photographer's site! how adorable.

Katie, you look beautiful. (with you're hair pulled back you have a sweet Debra Messing look - without the big nose!) you two are so cute.

What a beautiful beginning to a beautiful life together!
Congratulations.

(you don't know me personally, but I've been enjoying your blog for years)
