I got a new little entry table for our house on craigslist last night. It's a little beat up and a bit more formal than the vibe we've got going on in the rest of the house so I was thinking of painting it some happy color. What do you think?
I suggested yellow or green to the ear doctor and he thinks bright colored furniture isn't great for anything but a kid's room. Do you agree?

A bright colour would look wonderful there. Go for it! You have great taste!
The yellow that you have in that room isn't what I would call "bright."

I vote green to match your rug.
No way, bright colored furniture is definitely not just for kids! A yellow of some shade (not sure which without seeing the entire room) would look great there, I bet. I'd probably stay away from green since you already have the big rug and a couch pillow that look to be pretty close to the exact same color. Don't want green overload (or matchy-matchy-ness, which is not a word but should be). :)
ps. Where'd you find that rug? Love it!
Ha I was thinking yellow too, before I even finished reading your post. Like a mustard-y color. From what I've seen of your house, that would totally mesh.
I think ED is thinking bright yellow. I am thinking of a yellow with a touch of brown. Maybe he won't be frightened once you show him some paint chips. And your awesome friends' advice. Ha ha

I love yellow! We had a big yellow dresser in our dining room until my husband replaced it. You could do a soft yellow, so it's more understated. I love that little table, though. It will look great in any color you paint it!

I'm a day late after seeing all the other comments, but as soon as I saw the table, I thought "Yellow!" If Ear Dr. doesn't like bright yellow, you can still do a sunny, less-saturated version.
My first thought was orange :) I think yellow would be smashing too
