Well, we are so close to done I can't even stand it! All that is left is installing crown molding all the way around the top of the room, staining/installing the floor transitions and doing some touch-up painting. We don't own a nailer, so the crown is going to have to wait until we can afford to buy one or find a friendly neighbor to lend us one.
I really love the way everything turned out and I hope you've enjoyed the little recap!
So what do you think?

I want to marry it!
I'm in love with this kitchen, and want to copy you with the shelves under the cabinets!!! Great idea for that usually wasted space!!!!
Nice work! I like the rug :)
It is perfect.
Love the rug. Love the little shelves below the cupboards. Really really like the flooring. We want to knock out a wall between the living room and kitchen and something like this would be perfect for the two rooms. What did you end up using?

Oh my gosh, I'm so freakin' jealous! I've been doing a little dreaming about someday re-doing our kitchen and this just lit a fire under me. Unfortunately it's a fire I can't afford yet. But someday! Seriously though, it looks absolutely fantastic!
You guys are amazing. I hope we can someday have a kitchen as beautiful as yours.
Super cute! I love the spice rack under the cupboards... it makes me want to clear my kitchen out of all the gadgets I don't use... and install a backsplash. We have a nailer, but I don't think we can transport our compressor without a truck, (do you have your own compressor?)... I can ask though. We're not that far away.
Beautiful! Love the floors.
So cute! Your details are darling. I absolutely love your little shelves below the cabinets. What did you use for your countertop?
Love it !!!Knew you could do it...so proud of you...Love you guys..ear doctors mom
KATIE!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!! Oh my goodness its perfect!!! I bet even cleaning up and washing dishes is fun in a kitchen that beautiful!!!!
That last comment was me (allimarie.blogspot)...I was signed in with my other email.
It's SO pretty! I'm SO envious!
You don't need a nailer to install crown molding. Predrill nail holes in the molding, use adhesive to hold in place and nail to cabinet fronts.
The project turned out beautiful and it was a lot of fun for all of us.
I need to come and use my Christmas present soon.
it's gorgeous, katie! love the rug and the wall color. awesome job!!
Absolutely lovely!
I do like the little shelves below the cupboards. Never saw that before... your own inspiration?
And the rug. Whoo hoo.
I smell a submission on Young House?
It looks stunning! You did a wonderful job!
I love the farmhouse sink and schoolhouse (that's a lot of houses) light above it. Great job!
This is all so impressive! You have done a great great job.
This makes me soo happy. Especially because you put so much of yourselves into this space! You earned every serene kitchen moment you'll experience.
