Like a log

I am a very sound sleeper. I attribute this honed skill to the genius of my mom and my own personal greed. When we were little my mom would promise a dollar to the kid who could fall asleep first. Money is a great motivator to a kid who loves Toys R Us. Anyway, this constant conditioning has molded me into the person who falls asleep anywhere: bumpy Mexican bus rides, uncomfortable plane seats, the middle of my chemistry classes, etc.

However, there are only two things that will wake me up enough in the night to actually get me out of bed. Not having to go to the bathroom (that can wait til morning) or needing to get a drink (I'd rather spit sawdust before getting out of my cozy bed). They are:

  1. Having nightmares about my teeth falling out. I haven't been to a dentist in WAY too long and have recurring nightmares about rotting teeth. Scary enough to get me out of bed for 3 minutes for a middle of the night teeth brushing.
  2. Twisted up pajamas. Man, I cannot STAND having my pajamas twisted all around me. It will wake me up and I'll actually stand up out of my bed so that gravity can help me unwind the boa-constrictor-like effect of long pajama pants.

So now you know.

Apparently twisted pj's do not wake me up, one of the most unnerving things in the world for me is waking up and finding that I've taken my pj's OFF in the middle of the night without even waking up. I keep worrying that I'll do this when i am crashing on someone's couch or sharing a bed with a friend on a trip or something. I think the teeth falling out dream is scary, though. Doesn't the ear doctor have a friend who is a tooth doctor?

I have the teeth falling out dream too. I HATE IT. Supposedly it means you are insecure about something but I am not sure about that.

Wow, I never heard of anyone else having tooth-loss dreams. They are freaky, indeed! Nice to know there are others out there. : )

It's worse when you know that you have 5 cavities that need filled and you have the teeth-falling-out dream. This has been my nightly occurance for the past week. Hopefully the dentist can get me in soon!!

I hate the teeth-falling out dreams!! Luckily I haven't had one in a while. I didn't realize anyone else had those.

Please pass me some of your sleep-like-a-log-edness. I could really use some as I find myself getting up at least once a night to pee during this pregnancy. Apparently my bladder has shrunk since my last pregnancy. Bleh. And then of course once I have settled back into my cozy wonderful bed my stomach announces it's hungry. I have to keep Life cereal on my bedside table for this very purpose. It's most annoying.

i hate, hate, hate twisted pj's too. i can't handle that!

Oh how things change. I use to be the same way. I could sleep through ANYTHING. But, after having Porgie, I wake up at the drop of a hat. I haven't slept through the night since she us born 16 months ago.
